Wow! Really nice shading going on there! Awesome!

Nice lighting and sweet blur!
That's a nice one dude! I certainly know how you feel about shadows. But you've nailed them quite nicely here. Obvious light direction and a well behaving anatomy (which can be a bitch obviously). Maybe a little advice: If you want to color something black, don't use black. Try a slightly lighter shade. So you won't have to use white outlines to distinct stuff like the zipper on the pants in this case.
Thanks for the response! The black coloration tip makes sense - I've been using the paint fill "outlining" as distinction for wrinkles and such, but if I can keep pure black outlines and slightly off-black color it'd look better.
I'll probably start trying it out in my next few ideas - just so you don't feel ignored, all my submissions to the date of this response (March 13 2013) were without me seeing your review. After accidentally asking to be scouted when I started submitting art, I've been a bit apprehensive about checking on my artwork here or talking with Newgrounders in general.
lol so good!
Great work! The background is awesome and the texture zou used ads a lot to the overall feeling!
Damn sweet!
awwwwwwwwwwwwwww
that's so cute!! I'm a bit like adrian too, if I have a girlfriend ^^
nice!
Now I see you have done some more acrylic!
Without a doubt this is art! It seems like the little one in the lower right corner is kinda letting/spitting out the big one, like a soul or so. But the big red one leaves kinda creepy feeling and he reminds of the death impersonated with his stretched out index finger. The other two also seem to be kinda shocked and staring in disbelieve. Just great!
The backgrounds aren't something special, but I don't think that I could do it better. Did they maybe have the deeper meaning of representing the 3 base colors RGB? It doesn't really matter. I also would hang this one on my wall immediately!
oh my gosh!
This is so cute and weid, I just love it.
Especially since it's painted on an actual canvas and it was you first. I can imagine, that I would do so bad, that I'd burn the picture afterwards... xD
I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy it and hang it on my wall by the way!
As for the painting itself:
He seems to be the kind watermelon-king floating through the night and watching his beloved kingdom. I love the backlighting and I would see the background as a stylized kind of needle forest. It also could be sharp green rocks, which would change the mood of the whole piece in an instant.
Make more like this, please!!
PS:Have you done some other acrylic paintings by now?
